Dining Area Wall Treatment!!!

I have officially jumped on the blog wagon! I stayed home sick from work yesterday, and while I was laying on the couch watching the Today show, I had this vision in my mind! I was staring at my wall with my barn stars that I LOVE!! And knew it had to change. When my husband came home from lunch I told him what I wanted (I may have batted an eye or two) and to my suprise he jumped right on it. Ok well first he tried to tell me it would be a 3 day process and I wouldn't have the instant gratification that I love so much.

Here is where we started:

Step #1: Install the top rail! (the right side will eventually meet up with my fireplace mantle and surround)

Step #2: Install boxes made from 1" trim (we did this step twice when we realized our floor was not level and we had measured off the floor... ALWAYS use a level, it will save you in the long run)

Step #3: Prime all of the area that you are going to paint!!

And here is the final product! (sorry about the lighting... it was still dark out this morning when I took the pics!)

I am so in LUUUUVVEEE with this look! It has put a whole new feel on the room!

Thanks hubby!!

I am linking this up to the following parties :
Sawdust&paperscraps Whatever Linky Party!!

Krystal.... my husband wasn't a believer in this look until he finished it last night. It only took him like 6 hours (with waiting between paint coats) and now he wants to continue it down the hall and into the entryway. I would love to see pics of yours if you do it!
