Army Birthday Party

The Army goes rolling along.......  yes that song is stuck in my head.  But let me tell you, it is so worth it!!

We had 12, 9 year old boys that were in awe over the details of the party.

I will do detailed posts in the weeks to come, so for now, just sit back and enjoy the pictures!

When the boys arrived to the party, they were each given a custom t-shirt, personalized dog tag, army helmet and a bag for their own belongings.  Then they each had their faces painted in camo. Click here for the DIY Screen Printing tutorial.

After everyone arrived and were all geared up, we took them on a ride in the back of the hummer through the neighborhood.  It was so cute to hear their excitement.  They had cute chants like "U-S-A, U-S-A", "You are safe" and the most favorite one was "VICTORY"!

Sadly though, this mom forgot  to bring the camera along for the ride... so hopefully I did a good enough job to fill your imagination.

The MRE's consisted of "build your own" sandwich kits, a bag of chips, granola bar, applesauce packet, mayo, mustard and a wet ones wipe! Click here to download a FREE MRE printable.

Each child was given a real military canteen.  I used a sharpie to write their names on them, and kept them filled with ice cold water throughout the day!  It was finally 80 degrees here in Oregon!!!

The goodie bags for the party were these cute little bags full of plastic army men.  A MUST have for this theme... right??

After the ride, it was off to boot camp.  Here are the boys just before they started drills...  oh boy were they having a blast!

Sargent Zach with my niece and his daughter Brooklyn.  She was even dressed for the occasion.

After drills it was off to the backyard to hit the ropes course!

And then of course break time........

The party was such a hit, and the boys had a blast!  I owe a big thanks to Daneille for getting the Army stickers for the party (thank you to her sister and brother in-law who is in the Army) and thank you to Rachel for helping me get my backyard all ready for the party!

And thanks to Heather for the help with designing the invitations!!

I could not have done it without any of you.

A Little bit of the Party Life {what's coming up}

I have officially decided that May is my month that has zero spare time.  And I mean ZERO!

April 29th my sweet boy turned 9 years old!  Then just 5 days later on May 4th, my daughter turned 7.  Yes I know, great timing on my part right??  It's starting to bite me in the butt these days.

Typically we do their parties two weeks apart to give me more time to plan, and somewhat recuperate.  Unfortunately this year I did not get to lucky.

Last night was our annual Cinco De Mayo party at work....

Then next Saturday May 12th we have a very fun Army Birthday Party planned for the boy.....

Then onto Saturday May 19th is Craft Club, which is followed by a Carnival Party on Sunday May 20th for our sweet girl.

Then just when you think it's over... we leave on May 25th for 4 days on our annual family vacation, in beautiful Sunriver this year!

And while these events will take up our weekends for the month, the weekdays must go on as usual.  Work, school, house cleaning, party planning, and just plain old having fun being a family!

Now, on a little fun note.  My mom and I went to an estate sale last Sunday, and ended up being the first ones in the door on HALF PRICE DAY!!  Yahoo!   I scored all of these lovelies for $18!!

If I had gone on a day that they were still full price, I still would have bought them, so double score for me!!

Everything is brand new, and the plates on the stand were still in the original box.  The woman was an avid QVC/HSN lover!  Works for me.

These things will be great additions to the upcoming parties!

I will be back this week with some detailed posts of all the events.

Have a GREAT week friends!!
