Curious George Party

This post contains affiliate links
This last weekend I was asked to throw a 2nd birthday party for my cousin's son.

On our family vacation back in May, my cousin had mentioned that they were wanting to have a Curious George party, and asked if I wanted to help out.

Ok, first of all, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to help, second… Hello Curious George!!  If you didn’t know before… I have a major obsession with that little monkey.  Just check out my scrapbook room by clicking here.

I took so many pictures and had such a blast.

I created each place setting using the following items:

For the centerpieces I grabbed some metal tins and buckets from my stash and my cousin (who happens to be a florist) created the floral arrangements.  They were the perfect touch to this event!

We served lemonade out of my fun red drink dispenser and provided mason jars with the cute lids and Red Paper Straws adorned with a sweet sentiment.

I wrapped bottled waters with custom labels.

My cousin painted these cardboard letters that were used for his 2 year photo shoot and added them to the party décor.

I created this cute T-shirt by using my DIY Screen print method that you can read about here.

I created this fun party hat by using up some scrapbook paper, pom pom trim and a feather boa that I had in my stash.

My sweet friend Bonnie made the cake and we added this wooden toy to bring George into the theme.

On each place setting, I stamped the placemats.  I don't know that you can find this stamp anymore, but I would check Ebay.

We made banana pudding and topped them off with chocolate chips and a vanilla wafer.  Using paper cups we added the Curious George printable tag, some bakers twine and served them with wooded spoons.

I used more Curious George tins from my stash and used them to create height and depth on the food table.

We used a Curious George Metal Lunch box and placed Curious George and the Birthday Surprise books in there for each family to take home.

For the backdrop we used yellow fabric, and hung large framed prints and hung paper lanterns and small curious George plush clips above.

Whew that was a lot of fun!!  It truly was as much fun as it looks like it was.

The party was out on my Aunt and Uncles beautiful farm in Beavercreek Oregon,  and the weather was absolutely perfect!

I could not have ask for a more PERFECT party for my little monkey! I was thrilled, and so was everyone else, with the way that the party turned out. It was truly incredible. The bonus was getting to work with you Jennifer, because you are such a hard worker but so much fun to work with as well. You were completely stress free throughout the entire process which made me have a wonderful stress free day too! Thank you SO much for everything....can't wait for the next one :-)

This is ADORABLE! My little man is obsessed with George and I've been trying to plan a Lorax themed party for his 3rd birthday {because we always do something monkey themed} but now I might have to go back to the Curious George plan! :-)

So amazing - you are getting pinned immediately!!! My baby boys are a little in love with that monkey, they call the computer 'ouuu ouu' (the sound a monkey makes) because that is where they get to watch george.

Wow! What an amazing party! You definitely have some serious skills in party planning. Most people hate party planning since it is stressful, but you definitely had fun doing it. The smiles and happy faces of the guests were proof how great this party was. And I think it was a smart move that you decided to make it a career. You're very organized and have a great taste in picking the venue and food, which by the way looks very delicious, and I’m sure it taste good as it looks. =)

I swear that some people don't even bother to actually read the article, then just go on spouting a bunch of garbage. Seriously, it's tiring.

How's the party planning business going? I'm guessing it's successful, judging by how parties are a hit these days and how great that party you threw looks in the pictures. You sure pull out all the stops into making the event memorable. Best wishes in your endeavors!

Looking at your success on throwing this party, it’s a good decision that you’ve started your own party planning business. There’s no harm in trying to use your talent to succeed. As we always know, talent is one of the best business investments.
